There is still time to get a deduction on your 2009 taxes by making a donation to Haiti relief efforts. Give to any 501(c) group that is involved in Haiti by this Sunday, Feb. 28th, and it can still be claimed on your taxes for last year or on your 2010 taxes. What a deal. This was set up after the earthquake hit Haiti to provide some surge to donations and allow citizens to save on their taxes in the process.

There is no reason to believe this deadline will be extended, so if you want to give, give now. After Sunday, you’d have to take a deduction from 2010 taxes, more than a year away.

The organizations below were given support by the Clinton/Bush Haiti fund during it’s first round of financial aid. These are worthy of your consideration, along with many others.

Catholic Relief Services

Concern Worldwide US

Haitian NGO Gheskio

International Medical Corps

 Project Medishare
